Genomic alterations in Androgen Receptor

Androgen receptor (AR), plays a crucial role in prostate cancer progression to a highly metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate cancer (CRPC). We identified previously unknown acetylation site, K609 in AR DNA binding domain. Jagat’s research focuses on unraveling genomic alteration in AR and other genes upon initiation and progression of prostate cancer using various models.

Exploring (R)-9b, a small molecular inhibitor of ACK1, in drug-resistant Breast Cancer

We have designed an inhibitor of ACK1, (R)-9b, which potently inhibits prostate cancer and breast cancer growth. Current studies are aimed to validate whether (R)-9b could overcome CDK4/6 inhibitor, palbociclib-resistant breast tumor growth.
